New Beginnings...

2014 was good to us.  First and foremost we were blessed with the most amazing little man!  I may be in denial that his baby days are quickly waning and I might be hanging on to those baby ways a bit longer than I should...  But despite me he continues to grow and flourish and I love him for it.  2014 also came with its challenges and deep valleys.  The past couple of months have been a valley but with the birth of 2015 we hope and pray for renewed hope, clarity, and the passion to run with our dreams.  Speaking of dreams, I am starting to run with my dream for this space and this little business I am trying to build.  I feel the juxtaposition of anticipation, excitement, and fear.  The valley of these past months have given me time to reflect and dig deep.  As I asked myself what draws me to photography?  Why do I want to do this?  What is the connection I feel to it?  I found answers; answers I already knew but now more refined.  I am drawn to the emotion, the story, the connection, the details, the moments you never get to see because you are living them but yet at the same time, the moments you want forever etched in your memory.   I want to create images that bring you to another time and place or just make you feel something stir within yourself.  With that vision in mind I am starting to bring forth changes to my business and brand which will be rolled out slowly over the course of the coming months.   The biggest change will be my focus on a fine art tangible product, handcrafted and beautiful.  I will still offer digital packages but I want you to be able to hold those moments in your hands, hang them on your walls, and use them as yet another way to bring beauty to your everyday life.  I want your time with me to be more than just the click of the shutter, I want to know you and your story, and I want to leave you an experience and memories your will cherish.  Here's a glimpse at what is to come for Amy Melissa Photography in 2015...

Highlands Ranch Lifestyle Photographer- Daddy's Home

I'm hard pressed to think of many better sounds than the shriek and squeals of this baby boy when he sees his daddy walk through the door.  The excitement and smiles are just uncontainable.

These thighs...oh so ticklish!   And they just beg to be squeezed.

This last one makes this momma's heart just about burst.  This is a daily ritual for these boys.  Everyday when Sean comes home Asher goes upstairs with him while he washes his face, brushes his teeth and hangs up his suit.  Sean talks to Asher and Asher hangs onto his every word.  This picture isn't technically great by any means but as my baby continues to grow and will one day be a man just like his daddy, I know that I will cherish this one and the memories that come with it.  For me, these are the moments that Lifestyle photography is all about, the everyday and the beauty within it.
